About a week of rain in Suva, the weather man had put up a beautiful sunny and cool weather at Vatuwaqa on Saturday. Eighty golfers enjoyed the day participating in a stroke event, which was sponsored by the Fiji Golf Club.
A Telecom Fiji executive, Marika Vada, who has been consist in the last few months had yet another successful day on Saturday. He played an even round, 72 to win a prize for the best overall gross for the tournament.
The A grade prize was won by D S Oh, 67 net on countback from Robert Li who won the second prize. A third prizes in the grade was won by Shailendra Praigahi, 69 on countback.
Kevin Maitava, 66 net won the first prize in the B grade. The second and third prizes in the grade were won respectively by Jai Lal, 67 net and Albert Mariner, 68 net on countback.
The C grade was won by Basdeo Lal with a massive 59 net. The second and third places were respectively won by Bank of South Pacific Country Manager, Kevin Mc Carthy, 63 net and former PSC Chairman, Rishi Ram, 66 net on countback.
The nearest-to-pin (NTP) prize for the fifth hole was won by Jai Lal while Ravin Lal won the NTP prize for the sixteenth hole.
