There was another good turnout at Fiji Golf Club tournament on Saturday, which had attracted 108 starters to the sunny and cool Vatuwaqa course. The course was in a top condition, which had reflected in very good scores attained.
The battle in the A grade was a 3-way affair each winning in a countback. Robert Li, 42 points was man of the day, who won the first place in the grade on countback from David Oakley and PC Goundar, who won second and third prizes, respectively in the grade.
The B grade was won by the former Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, who scored a very good 43 points. The second and third places in the grade were won by Jai Lal, 42 points and Anare Gukilau, 40 points, respectively.
There were really amazing high scores in the C grade, which was won by Malcolm Paterson with a massive 49 points, while Alfred Tuatoko, 46 points and Manish Deo, 45 points on countback won the second and third prizes in the grade, respectively.
Margret Browne, 42 points won the ladies silver division, while a relatively new golfer, Rachael Managreve, 40 points won the bronze division in the Ladies’ category.
The NTP prizes were won by Ilaisa Labaibure and Haroon Ali on the second and sixteenth holes, respectively.
Telecom Fiji Ltd will sponsor the September monthly medal tournament on Saturday, which is expected to attract another good field.
