2011 Fiji Senior Golfers’ Association Season Closing Golf Tournament

It was another beautiful sunny day again at Vatuwaqa on Wednesday. The 2011 Fiji Senior Golfers’ Association season closing individual stableford event was played at the Vatuwaqa golf course. The event was sponsored by Goodman Fielder International (Fiji) Limited.

The fairways were in immaculate conditions.

There were thirty seven players, who played in the tournament. The sponsors had provided chicken prizes for the winners of the tournament. In addition, all participants were given a Christ chicken each to take home.

There were three main overall winners of the tournament in each of men and ladies’ divisions.

The first prize in the men’s division was won by Susau Managreve, who scored 38 points on countback from Ratu Epeli, who collected the second prize. The third prize was won by Bill Pareti, 37 points.

The first prize in the ladies division was won by Charlotte Thomas, who came from Pacific Harbor to participate in the tournament. She scored 39 stableford points. The second and third prizes in the ladies division were won by Rose Sue, 34 points and Sereima Bale, 28 points, respectively.

In addition, there were three nearest-to-pin prizes, which were won by Rose Sue, Ramesh Goundon and Filimoni Jitoko. Unfortunately, there was no winner for the fourth nearest-to-pin prize.

The participants enjoyed a cocktail party, which was served during the prize giving.
