One of the biggest monthly golfing events on Fiji Golf Club calendar is the Flower Mills of Fiji Foods Ltd. monthly medal stroke event, which was held on Saturday. The event had attracted one hundred and twelve (112) golfers to the Vatuwaqa greens.
The weather man had provided a perfect weather for the golfers.
Again the course has been maintained in a top condition as evident in good scores.
Young Olaf Allen, Junior played extremely well scoring 5 under par, 67 and won himself a first prize in A grade. The second prize in the grade was won by Tiphait Hussein, who scored 71 net. A third place in the grade was won by Sanjeshwar Ram on 72 net.
Manish Deo, 67 net won a first prize in B grade while Vijay Madhavan, 71 net and George Cornelius, 73 net on count back won second and third prizes in the grade, respectively.
There were also good scores recorded in the C grade. Craig Brimson, 69 net won a first prize in the C grade, while Ashok Nath, 71 net and Mr. Baek, 73 net had won second and third prizes in the grade, respectively.
Mohammed Rizwan, 80 gross and Tomasi Tuivuna, played even, 72 won best gross and professional category prizes, respectively.
FMF Foods Ltd. had also honored a senior golfer, who had the best score. This was won by Kishore Chetty.
M H Park, 66 net and Kamini Lata Singh, 76 net, won the ladies silver and bronze divisions, respectively.
Tanasio Naqarase won a prize for the nearest-to-pin on the second hole, while M H Park won a prize for the sixteenth hole.
