Waqa Bauleka Leads DATEC Summer Cup After Fourth Round

A good turnout of one hundred twenty four golfers played versus par event on the fourth round of Datec Fiji Ltd. summer cup at Vatuwaqa on Saturday.
The weather was beautiful and sunny and fairways have improved greatly since the previous weeks.
Waqa Bauleka is currently leading the overall leaders’ score board after the fourth round. However, the competition is closely contested with one or two points separating the leaders. There are four weeks left to play before the winner of the cup is confirmed.
Tukai Tuivuna, played one under, 71 won the professional division, while best overall gross prize was won by Mohammed Rafik, who played two over, 74.                           
The prizes in each of men’s three grades and two of ladies’ grades were awarded according to best overall individual versus par points.
In men’s A grade, D S Oh, played plus 7 to win a first prize in the grade. The second  prize in grade was won by Solomoni Nata, plus 4, on countback from Robert Williams, who collected the third prize.
Filimoni Jitoko, plus 8, won a first prize in the men’s B grade, while Tanasio Naqarase, plus 7 won a second prize. The third prize in the grade was won on countback by Joe Rodan, plus 6.
Craig Brimson, plus 7, claimed the first prize in the men’s C grade. The second prize  won by Abdul Hakim, plus 7 on countback from Mark Kelly, who collected the third prize.
Kelera Watling, plus 3 and Margret Browne, plus 4, won the ladies’ silver and bronze divisions, respectively.
Feizel Haniff won the nearest-to-pin prize on the second hole, while Richard Rahiman   won the NTP on the twelfth hole.
Mohammed Rizwan scored an impressive eagle on the fourth Hole.
The fifth round of DATEC Summer Cup will be played on Saturday. The tee off will be between 08.00 am and 1.30 pm.
