In the meantime, another good field was recorded on Saturday, where one hundred and two golf enthusiasts completed another 18 holes in the sixth round of Datec summer cup at Vatuwaqa despite a heavy washout experienced in the mid part of the morning.
A young and upcoming golfer, Nigel Goundar played 3 over, 75 won the overall gross prize on Saturday.
Thepiat Hussein, 43 stableford points won Men’s A grade on Saturday. The second prize for the grade was won by Dennis Fong, 42 points, while Jung Yun Ho collected the third prize.
In men’s B grade, Manjoor Begg scored 44 stableford points, which was the highest overall stableford points scored on the day. He had earned himself ten match points, which is the maximum points. He also won the first prize in the grade. The second and third prizes in the grade were won by Praneel Chandra, 40 points and Ramesh Goundan, 39 points, respectively.
Arvind Goundar, 42 points, received a first prize in the men’s C grade, while Eric Shandil, 41 points and Ravin Lal, 40 points, collected second and third prizes in the grade, respectively.
Tomasi Tuivuna, played 5 under 67 won the professional division on countback.
Claire Mariner, 40 points, won the prize in the ladies’ silver division, while Margret Browne, 36 points, won ladies’ bronze division on countback.
Mohammed Rafik and Anare Gukilau each won nearest-to-pin prizes for the second and twelfth holes, respectively.
In the meantime, the seventh and second last round of the Datec Summer cup will tee off 8.00 am to 1.30 pm on Saturday 10th March 2012. Current top twenty players on the leader’s board will be put in a seeded draw. Unless authorized by the tournament starter, the players in the seeded draw must report to the starter fifteen minutes prior to their respective tee off time and must play in their respective group. Failure to comply will result in two-stroke penalty being added to the player’s score card.
